A web-based, open-source system for businesses to keep track of inventory and loan-out equipment through a checkout system. Originally developed for Eyebeam Atelier. The code is available under a GPLv3 license here. Please note that I do not offer any technical support for the software, and I make no promises that you can get it to work.
Features include: User creation/management, add/edit equipment (space for pictures, category, price, model, etc.), equipment checkout/return including e-mail notification of late equipment, searchable inventory by category or keyword and more.
Tools: Programmed using PHP, mysql, javascript, .css, html
Was this project ever released? I’m looking to do a project that will be very similar and having a reference would be nice!
I believe Eyebeam still uses it, but I haven’t gotten around to posting it on GitHub or SourceForge yet — will do my best to clean it up and post it over the summer.
Did you ever publish this? I desperately want it!

Did you ever release this? I work at a university and need exactly this thing!
Hi Joseph – finally put the code on github: https://github.com/leducmills/Inventory
Best of luck!
Hi! it’s over a year since the last comment but wondering if there’s any stir on this? Would love to try it out, sounds perfect for our small lab – could i be of any assistance in cleaning it up? thanks
Hi Jack – the code is finally up at: https://github.com/leducmills/Inventory
My apologies for the delay – the lift of a PhD student affords little free time.
Is there a guide on how to set this up?
Hi Brian,
The instructions (as much as I have time to provide) are in the GitHub repo – check the readme file here: https://github.com/leducmills/Inventory
Thanks!
Hi Ben, thanks for getting back to me. I honestly have read the read me file over and over and over and I honestly cannot get it to work. All I get is nothing of a listing of Index files. I import the SQL created the database, and now I am trying to fill in the localhost, database name, and password and still nothing. I have been searching for something like this to be able to get it to work and still having issues for the past week. I keep trying every day.
