Hello there! You've reached the portfolio-ish site of Ben Leduc-Mills. This website captures some of my career from user research and service design, to interaction design, software engineering, rapid prototyping & digital fabrication, open source hardware, and of course, AI.
PopCAD (version 1)
PopCAD (version 1) is a paper-based 3D-input device for beginner-level 3D modeling. It connects to a piece of software to display different shapes in real-time based on the actions of the user turning on or off different lights. The lights are arranged in a 3x3x3 grid, and controlled by capacitive touch sensors made from copper tape. PopCAD is designed to be a foldable pop-up book, cheap to make, easily portable, and intuitive for novice modelers, especially children.
